  Generally Speaking Do You Trust Your Government?

  as a us citizen, i am usually a bit skeptical of what comes out of the mouths of government officials.

  often they may speak the truth but i’m not convinced of whatever they are saying as being 100% true.

  do you believe your government implicitly?

  Sorry minimus but trump only in the last week and half started to acknowledge there was a problem with this virus. Before that he was calling it a democratic plot against him. Then he was telling everyone it would disappear shortly like a miracle. Then he finally started using real doctors who were telling it like it is and then he would contradict them. Finally in the last week he is in step with what needs to be done and I am happy about that.

  Even though I don't care for Pence he seems to know what he is doing and he knows how to communicate well. Hopefully most of us will get through this well. Everyday there is a delay those who get effected by the virus increases by 30 percent daily. I heard one scientist say if we can't get a handle on the spread of this virus it could result in 2.3 million deaths in the U.S. I hope he is wrong. Take care minimus and stay safe. Still Totally ADD

  Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread

  this topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.

  latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

  the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

  I agree but having no government oversight over insurance companies is like having the fox watching the hen house. Someone has to stop their greed but who? I don't have the answer to that one.

  On another thought friends of ours are leaving France tomorrow. It has been very difficult for them to leave because France is in a total shutdown. They had to get permission to have their in laws drive them to the airport. When they arrive home they have to do a 2 week self imposed quarantine. Which is what most are doing around here.   Guns and ammo selling out fast

  i went to my local walmart today and most of the can goods and frozen foods were sold out.

  i did a web search from where i buy ammo from, lucky gunner, sg ammo, buds and others.

  bulk ammo is sold out just over night.

  Half banana glad to hear where you live people are working together to help your community. I can only hope this will take place in the U S instead of mistrust of one another thinking guns are the only solution. Good luck to you folks on the other side of the pond. Still Totally ADD

  In our town in western ny all schools are closed, restaurants are closed except take out, grocery stores and limiting hours open and the worst is all the bars are closed so no one has a place to cry in their beer. I always feel a little humor keeps all from going nuts. No toilet paper I saw a picture of a home made outdoor bidet. Take a lawn chair cut the seat out and put a water sprinkler under it. Lol.

  Simon the Democrats never did change their mind they have always had guns. We just don't think one needs a military strength weapon. Why is the ammo being sold out are their guns equipped with a microscope to see the virus. Lol. Same here no toilet paper to be found. I guess it's back to using leaves. I saw on TV the stores that did have it was only allowing 2 rolls per customer. Why not bring people together instead of shooting them. Still Totally ADD

  Our pantry and freezer is still full from last year garden. Lots of dry bean, rice and flour. My wife being a herbalist we have a cabinet full of wild and cultivated herbs, herbal teas and tinctures. Because of the warm winter our stinging nettles patch is coming up which is one of the best superfoods to drink or eat. Gardening season is about to start.

  Our governor of ny spoke today and he was not very positive on beating the virus curve. We just do not have enough doctors, nurses, hospitals space or man power to make up the difference. I hope he's wrong but he explained it in a way that was very understandable. I am hearing this may be a 6 month ordeal before we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. If that does happen what will our economy look like? Let's hope for the best and be prepared for the worst. Take care all. Still Totally ADD

  Medically they can't say anything. Such as breast removal due to cancer. Many women have breast augmentation to balance their figure. Also some women have such large breast they have them reduced because of back problems. Besides it none of the elders business what a women does with their breast. But then again it's a cult and women have very little rights in a cult. Still Totally ADD

  At 3pm today President Trump will declare a national emergency due to the coronavirus. How things have changed. In our little town churches are closing indifently. Schools are looking into closing and our home and garden show which we are part of has been canceled. That hurts our pocket book. Try to find toilet paper at the stores! It's the dumbest things I've ever seen. Also got instruction from our doctor portal on what to do if you have flu like symptoms or other illnesses. Things seem to be ramping up. Still Totally ADD

  I just heard it on the news. They are in Australia where it is summer. Which bedunks when it gets warm it will stop. Now they may have brought it with them or they may have gotten it there I do not know. My understanding is it may be 100 times worse here than the count number of 1,100 that is given.
